Hi David: We are still finishing up our release right now. I am probably going to post something on our blogs about this very soon. I do not expect a final release in March, but we want to put out a public beta sometime near the end of the month or the beginning of April. This release adds support f...

Hi Mike: Currently Nisus Writer Express does not support line breaks without starting a new paragraph. However, you can create a letter template with the appropriate formatting setup for you. Do the following: 1. Open a new document and choose the "Style Sheet" view from the View menu. 2. Once the s...

Thanks for your feedback on the keyboard movement issue. We have talked about this matter for some time. Especially the issue of selecting whole sentences when you triple click instead of selecting the paragraph (which would require a quadrupal click). Its on our list. :)

Repairing disk permissions might help. This happens when your Mac somehow decides to mark your file as "executable". We get reports of this happening now and then, but mostly with Classic files which generally do not have a file extension, so it is easier for them to break. As far as we can tell, th...

I think what will convince the bigger guys to support something like LinkBack is its relative popularity. If people are out there buying products because they are LinkBack enabled, then that will make the big developers listen. We have actually talked to the folks who are working on Keynote about Li...

Hi everyone: I'm glad to hear you like the idea of LinkBack. LinkBack has been in the works for over a year and we started it because of your requests, so I'm glad we can finally announce it! I can't speak for the other companies, of course, but Nisus is planning a new release of Nisus Writer Expres...

Andy:

As Craig mentioned, others have told us they want Nisus Writer to behave this way also. The next release will make Nisus Writer Express keep the attributes you set until you move your cursor or do something else like that.

Does the text you are trying to paste have any kind of special formatting? Are you also selecting charts or anything like that?

I paste from Excel directly into NWE all the time. It creates tables almost perfectly from them.

So, we were thinking about changing the flag to use the standard language country codes. For example, US English will probably be "en_us" and British English would be "en_br".

Hi:

If you mean that column widths do not always restore correctly: this should be fixed in the next release. We will be releasing a public beta, so please let us know if you still have problems.

We have thought about this one quite a bit; it is definitely a good idea. I can't really talk much more about it right now though.

Hi: Thanks everyone for your feedback on speed and other long document features. I am curious about the speed issues that several of you had commented on. Our latest release should have fixed any speed issues you might have in long documents for typing, scrolling, and applying attribute changes espe...

Hi Ryan: We are not going to automatically turn on/off bullets or numbering. Too often Word gets this wrong and we have decided as policy that any kind of automated "correction" of your text will not happen unless we can make it very unobtrusive. For example, we have QuickFix, which is like Auto-cor...

Hi:

Bullet and numbering does include support for numbering paragraphs of text in a structured document. We will eventually extend this support as part of a complete outlining and document navigation solution.
