Re: Non-responsive buttons in tooldrawer

Upon opening a new document, I first tried to change top and bottom margins to 1" only (rather than default 1.25") by grabbing and pulling them right on the page. The top one changed; the bottom one did not respond. Opened the Tool Drawer, under Margins, tried to put cursor into margin me...

Omni Outliner 3.
Oh, duh! Given the comments in the various threads here and on the Mellel forum, I should have figured that out. Sorry for being clueless. Cheers!

Re: NWE Seems To Be Working OK

Well, I'm finishing up a project over the next few days that was begun this Summer, first in OO3, and then NWE—my first project, so far, that has never been worked on in Word at all . In fact, NWE is the only app that has ever opened this document. I have to say, I'd forgotten how nice it is to wri...

Re: problems with footnotes

I am using NWE 2.6 When opening WORD documents the formatting and styles of footnotes are lost. What am I doing wrong? Or is this normal? Any suggestions how to avoid this problem would be much appreciated. Thanks, Bettina Try saving the Word doc as an .rft and then opening it in NWE, that might ge...

Re: Auto-saving and saving new (untitled) files

Under 2.5 and prior version of Nisus, I was able to set the preferences to auto-save new files in the Document manager, but when I his command-S to save the file, it presented the standard Save menu, so I could choose a name for the file and a folder in which to save it. My preferences in 2.5 were:...

Rather than Word, why not NeoOffice 1.2 or OpenOffice 2.0? Both do TOC and are a whole lot better than Word in many respects. The autocomplete while typing is the best in any WP. Cheers!

Priorities?

I find it somewhat remarkable that we just spent several posts on what strikes me as horribly trivial. The ruler bug I gather is not fixed, I have a large problem with the tiered outline feature (I have submitted a bug) and we are worring about the progress bars on the opening? Nisus is a good produ...

Your right to not that American English does not use spaces around those dashes. I my experience, British usage is to put a space around them. Your solutions seem plausible to me.

I would put my two cents in to second the suggestion of the Offical Nisus Person. I love Nisus and prefer it, but NeoOffice has an autocomplete feature that works like the one they are contemplating. It is a joy to use when composing documents with lots of long words that get repeated lots of times ...

I have a support email in with Nisus on a similar issue. I wanted my footnotes to be hanging indents. In trying to get that I had the issue that the first note on the second page insisted on indenting the whole note and not just the text. Support was able to duplicate this with the doc I sent but I ...

Formatting footnotes

I like my footnotes to set up with a hanging indent. This has not proved to be a easy thing to do in 2.5. I opened the note style and clicked on the indent droplets to get the dialog box. I set the wrap the way I wanted it—by the way, the discrepance in margins between the note box and the text is a...

There needs to be more flexibility in the way styles and outline levels are related. Currently there is not way to associate a specific style with a specific outline level except by creating the style and associating it with an outline level. Then the only way to write your outline is by switching s...
