I think the implication is pretty clearly that one ought not put that many words in a row . Jeez. You people. ;)[/quote] Well, duh. I mean, how much does one document need, anyway? But seriously, I just (somewhat artificially) made a document with well over 100,000 words, by copying and pasting a s...

It works for me as well (although it took me a long time to find that link -- I had just downloaded the regular disk image and replaced the app; worked fine). I, too, am using OmniWeb 5.1.1, which is pretty sweet. :D Hopefully it's not that it only works with OW... If the link still doesn't w...

Unfortunately, I'm stuck on 2.1.1 because of one tiny, but critical (at leastl to me) bug. 2.5 only gives me a character count on my document. It doesn't give me a word / paragraph count. Sigh. That's really strange. Word count works for me. Works swimmingly here. You're talking about the one in th...

Use the same download link. Then replace your old Nisus Writer Express application with the new one. All your preferences and files will remain the same, but you'll have the new, improved, awesome upgraded version.

This is fantastic! You've given one writer a smile. Well, probably others, too.

Thanks for such an involved beta/fc testing process. High-quality builds that kept us eager for the final thing, and excited about the whole deal. Good work.

This program rocks, and I thank you for all your hard work!

First off, thanks Nisus for such a great tool! 2.5 fc2 is really, really good. And, in my testing at least, quite stable. I heartily appreciate your work! 2.5 has many of the things I've hoped for, and keeps up the tradition of total coolness that 2.1 began. In terms of feature requests for later ve...

If you drag the top triangle in the ruler over to the right, to your desired indentation, that will make the first line of every paragraph indented to that level. The rest of the paragraph will remain where the lower triangle is.

In the Edit menu, choose Paste > Paste Ruler. That should apply the ruler you copied to the paragraph(s) selected.

I didn't use NW Classic, so I can't compare that to the "visualization" features of that version. Sorry.

Dave was probably talking about the bulleted list feature, which is not unlike outlining. It's under the Format > Lists menu. It won't let you collapse sections or move them together as whole topics, but it'll at least let you make indented, numbered outlines of any style you choose. OmniOutliner is...

Re: Nisus Writer Express 2.5 Beta 5

Along those same lines, I would very much like to see the default "spacing after" set to 0. Every time I notice it, it reminds me of my students futzing with the kerning to make their essays look longer. I second. That's one of the first things I changed, but it's mildly irritating, nonet...

Whoa! Just wanted to mention that I tried using Deskshade for my writing background, and it is sweet! I have a hunch this may be my ideal writing environment, so Nisus can stop bothering with full-screen stuff.

As far as I know, there's no such navigation feature. It would be an obvious addition to make a "Jump to next section" button or menu command that would take you to the next section (chapter, part, whatever you've decided). Since the sections are already there and work quite well, navigati...

Oddly, I think I like the clutter of my desktop and crap surrounding my writing window. I make my NWE window very minimal (though not without my beloved tooldrawer), but my desktop adds some color. I think I'll give that Deskshade thing a try, since that'll remove the icons that get in the way. Ther...

Hey, no worries. Good to reiterate that sort of thing. I'm sure there are other people who run into this same situation.

Glad you found your file!
