Re: Page numbers and Screen Splits

G'day, Martin et al 17-page single-Section document. No checkboxes ticked in Section or Header/Footer Palettes. Automatic Pages in Document in Header; automatic Page Number in Footer. First, display on screen: Everything is OK in the top pane of a single split. In the bottom pane, all Headers contai...

Re: Page numbers and Screen Splits

G'day, all By way of trying to provide Martin with more clues as to what's going on here, I did some more experiments. My document is a Lorem ipsum document of 14 pages, consisting of a single Section and with all checkboxes in the Section and Header/Footer Palettes unticked. I'm just using a single...

Re: Page numbers and Screen Splits

G’day, all There’s more to this than meets the eye! I tried putting other stuff in the Footer. Ordinary text and the current time carry through all pages properly in both panes of a split. However, the automatically generated Pages in Document number is displayed as zero in all pages of the lower pa...

Re: Page numbers and Screen Splits

G'day, Vanceone et al The problem occurs even in a single-Section document (of 10 pages or more) in which all Footers have the same page numbering format. So nothing special. I always use the latest version of Nisus Writer Pro, by the way. It is certainly one of the most intriguing bugs I've encount...

Re: Page numbers and Screen Splits

G'day, Vanceone et al

I didn't check everything you mentioned, but I also see zeros for page numbers beyond 9 in footers in the lower pane of a two-pane split.

Cheers,
Adrian

Re: Prevent word-wrap

G'day, Ulrich et al Philip's solution is obviously a good one. For those unsure of where to find a Zero Width Joiner, it is conveniently provided in the Spaces set in the Special Characters Palette. It is as well to be aware, though, that embedding such characters can cause unexpected results from F...

Re: Split Document into Pages

G'day, Mark, Philip et al Thanks for pointing me in the direction of Cheap Impostor, Mark. I suspect I've already done most of the hard work for page imposition for my own present purposes, so I don't think I need to pay for more software, but I've filed it away in case I ever do. And thanks for the...

Split Document into Pages

G'day, all We have a number of Macros (mostly thanks to Kino and Philip) that will split documents at various points (such as Page Breaks, Section Breaks and Section Headings). What I need now, though, is a Macro that will split a document at page wraps (for want of a better term), regardless of whe...

Re: Finding superscript ordinal numbers

G’day, Frank et al I suspect you have just copied and pasted the Find expression from my Forum posting. But the Forum superimposes additional formatting which will be sought by the Formatting Sensitive stipulation but is unlikely to be present in your document. If you type in the expression afresh y...

Re: Finding superscript ordinal numbers

G’day, johseb et al Let me restate the problem: You would prefer that one or more results in the Results window did not appear there. Right? As far as I can see, you can’t just delete an item in the Results list and have it deselected in the main document. You can do a Cut (not a Delete) operation i...

Re: Finding superscript ordinal numbers

G'day, Philip et al Indeed. Not because it's at all likely, but just to emphasize (yet again!) the importance of knowing what's in your document before you attack it with the powerful tools Nisus places in your hands, those in the back row need to be very careful that an exponent expression in a mat...

Re: Finding superscript ordinal numbers

G'day, Mark et al

The caveat with that approach is that it will de-superscript all superscripts, not just those associated with ordinal numbers. Know your document!

Adrian

Re: Finding superscript ordinal numbers

G’day, Frank et al Using PowerFind Pro, put the following expression in the Find field: (\d)(st|nd|rd|th) Select the second parenthesized expression and superscript it by choosing Format > Baseline > Superscript. Also tick the Formatting Sensitive checkbox there. Put the following expression in the ...

Re: Is "Find Next" possible by attribute (text colour)

G'day, Philip et al All these methods are fine, but there is a caveat: it depends on how the color was applied in the first place. By this I mean that they will only work if the chosen color is exactly the same in each instance. In all probability it is, but one way in which things could be otherwis...

Happy New Year

So allow me to take this opportunity to thank the entire Nisus community for their collaborative support over the past year, with special thanks to Martin for being such a frequent contribu...
