I don't know about all these other languages, but NewSpeak is the only one that's actually shrinking! It's becoming easier to learn! Eventually, there will only be one word, and it will say everything you need.

I don't have any writing that sucks. Sorry, Nisus folks.

I have plenty that blows, though. Will that do?

I also have writing that craves style-based small-caps, background-colors, enhanced full-screen mode, and a template manager.

Oh, and world peace.

Since Nisus uses the standard RTF file format, I'm not sure password protection can be added. They could, of course, encrypt the file and turn it into something else, then decrypt it into a proper RTF when it's opened. This isn't a perfect solution, but in the meantime you should consider using eith...

I tried Cmd-W (for "World"), but that just bombed my document. D'oh! Then I tried Cmd-P (for "Peace") and my printer tried to chip in, but senseless wars raged on. I figured it might be more obscure (world peace isn't always simple). So I tried Cmd-Opt-W, and right before my eyes NWE started blowing...

This would be desired behaviour if, for example, you primarily write TPS reports in Nisus, and you want your default new document to already have a coversheet on it, perhaps with all of your bosses' names written in loopy fonts. I made my custom new doc template have all my styles and defaults set, ...

A good request. I suppose that would explain why I don't run into this issue, because my computers all have absurd amounts of memory.

Tough luck for everyone else, eh?

I'm not sure a World Peace macro will integrate nicely or provide all the features of built-in World Peace.

Hey, thanks for that link, gemboy! That's nice to have.

I wish I had played with the demo more before I bought Express, so I would have known the World Peace feature isn't finished yet. Sigh.

Good luck — to us all.

And as far as the 128%, I've wondered this myself, though not cared enough to actually ask anyone. Cool.

Since I wasn't a Nisus Writer Classic user, I know nothing of the "Define Numbers" command. So I can't offer anything useful in that regard. What is it about the Section numbering that does not work the way you want it to? This is how I number my chapters, in stories and books and technical document...

I concur about the style-based all-caps/small-caps. That would be incredibly useful, for things like titles or subheadings or what-have-you.

I do it in CSS, and I want to do it in Express!

OmniWeb is still better, though. So there.

However, the script could still come in handy in other situations. Like, um, if you're trying to spell-check something that's not in a text input area. Or in your code editor. Or something.

Yeah.

Now, I know this thread is already filling up with praise for Nisus and NWE (and NW Classic too, it sounds, though I never used that). However, I wanted to chime in with my added personal thanks, because, well, I wanted to. Thank you, Nisus, for making an elegant writing tool designed for the writer...

Harumph. I still vote for inline change-marking. Like so:

I also would request that NWE use an editable style for the changed text. That way we could each determine how drastic our edits will appear.
