Ninurta writes: Pro has NO hyphenation at all (only one of three hyphens in German are set correctly). Look, I am not going to argue endlessly about this. This is my last post on this issue. I find this whole argument a bit irritating, to be sincere. There are so many wonderful things in Nisus, I f...

Ninurta writes: If you have to produce a book for print - I mean a camera-ready copy - you need hyphenation. A text with justification looks pretty awful. But in the case you must produce a camera-ready copy, you can correct the few hyphenation mistakes there are manually before going to the camera...

Well, everybody, I have been using Nisus forever, I write mostly in French, quite a lot in Italian and sometimes in German - I am really surprised how much you make of hyphenation... First, as Groucho mentions, Nisus uses Apple hyphenation dictionaries. Secondly, it is not true that Word has better ...

I write very long texts, up to 1 million signs, but I never missed the “go to page” feature, strangely enough, because the count at the bottom left of the Nisus screen allows me to scroll easily, quickly and quite precisely without going to the bother of calling on a menu. A non-scientific way of do...

Could you please send me some, I am being harried from all sides.

And OK, Martin, feature request - still, I am as puzzled as GemBoy at this loud expression of disappointment. :drunk:

You keep mentioning “the Dartmouth list”. Being from the other side of the Atlantic, I venture the timid question : keseksa (cellphone language for “qu'est-ce que c'est que cela”)? In other words, what is the Darmouth list, and how does one find it? Thanks for telling me.

If I well remember, Nisus Classic offered this possibility, and I find it maddening. Il you write ex. (for example) for instance, in the middle of a sentence, the next word comes capitalized, even if I don't want it to. Maybe it's Word, which offers this (I have to use word at work), anyway, whereve...

I have my licensed version of NWE on my Mac Mini and my Powerbook so I can work on files at home and while travelling I have had the same set-up for the last 15 years. It is logical! I NEVER use the 2 copies at the same time - why should I pay twice? On the other hand, there are three of us in the ...

Have you tried repairing permissions, prebinding, desk-top rebuilding? I have downloaded Nisus Pro hours after it was released, have been using it intensively, for short and long (very long even) texts, created with Nisus Express or Word, and everything works beautifully. Maybe your download got cor...

I solved the problem (for the time being) by unchecking "Use smart ponctuation” in the QuickFix menu which is in the preferences, and then I told Martin at Nisus… He said he was going to fix this.
Well, Martin? :)

As a matter of fact, it has been used in the 80s and the 90s mostly in academic circles - but that's all that is to it. Its spreading was - and is - limited to academic communication and some leftwing newspapers. I must be living in academic circles, among left-wing people (publishers of the german...
