Hi -
Dingbats are as awesome as Symbols on OSX - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1518
"Mac OS X: How to type Unicode characters, including Symbol or Zapf Dingbat fonts"
But ALL kinds of fonts should work when entered the RIGHT way - Unicode or NOT…

Hi Bill -
your problem was with the Nisus Writer Pro "Font Menu Cache" - that's quite a different beast.
Onyx will care for "Font Cache" only…

Re: HELP! MORE Weird Behavior with Fonts — This One Disastro
Hi - it's difficult to check without having the fonts you bought - but I wonder what you mean with: "… and installed them with Font Book" I just copy new fonts into the folder: "Mountain Lion"/Users/"ME"/Library/Fonts and "Validate/All Fonts" with Font Book then - any problematic fonts found, I "Dis...

Re: Multiline brace
HI - it depends on your setting & I've never had to do it myself. But the elements of multiline braces are part of Unicode 239B thru 23B1 - you can enter in Nisus Writer with "EDIT / CONVERT / From Unicode Code Points" - I prefer PopChar utility for this. You need to look for a font offering these b...

Hi -
not sure, but see: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/43 ... 0&tstart=0
All depends on the fonts - Unicoded ones should just stand the test.
Problem then is with entering "symbol" characters…

Well Steven -
then you can make a difference using SINGLE / DOUBLE STRIKETHROUGH - and declare what's what from the start.
How about coloring STRIKETHROUGH as well?
Good luck

Re: Overstrike possible in Nisus?
Hi Steven - The Mac is no typewriter - I was told in times of old. The up to date way to handle your input is using FORMAT/STRIKETHROUGH in Nisus - then the text stays intact and is searchable - and you can import it to any other application. Give the text a note why you replaced with good reason an...

Re: Overstrike possible in Nisus?
Hi Steven - with Unicode fonts I would definitely prefer entering U+0337 and/or U+0338 after the character concerned. Have a look at Apple's Character Viewer in Unicode View - there you can add both Strike Through Characters to your Favorites - for ease of use later. This is NO layout special as wit...

Well -
Sorting is a Language feature and should work correct. Nisus Writer depends on Apple's Text Engine for that matter. Adobe is a different beast - isn't it!?
