I was quite content with my 5inch screen :

Admitted, I used this in 1996, but at least it was portable :D

Re: NW for iPad?

I just discovered UX Write for the iPad. http://www.uxproductivity.com/ Has a lot of features and uses html as it native file format and can import/export quite well to .docx format. Since NWP does a 'poor' job of importing .docx, losing tables and TOC, this format is a no go, since I'm not going to...

Re: Open large file

Any chance that new 10.6 features like GrandCentralDispatch are being used in upcomming NWP versions ? http://www.apple.com/macosx/technology/#grandcentral I use NWP to edit large pdf files, converted to .rtf for reading on my BeBook ereader. Very often NWP locks up with the 'spinng beachball' and O...

Re: NWE as global spell-checker

The situation where this is useful is when writing in a text situation that is not savvy to that Apple spell-checker such as, in fact, this very message window I'm writing in Safari now :) Safari supports the system wide spell checker in the text input boxes. It is only not enabled by default. Each...

LinkBack

I have tested linkback with every version of 2.5 and in each version I get the same result : Make a document in a a linkback server enabled application and save the document. Make a selection and do an edit->copy. Paste this in a NWE document and save it. Close the linkback server application and do...

Yes internet is working fine but to print appears to be a problem! From any application. So we might have the cause here. :-) Do you happen to know how to make Tiger print happily again? Deleting some printer prefs maybe? Are you using a Netinfo directory on the network ? If so check the settings i...

Re: Long startups, hangs

I'm also using the new "Tiger compatible" NWE with 10.4. I haven't noticed any problems with Save/Save As, though I've only occasionally been able to get that far. On my system, NWE hangs up on the "Finding fonts" part of its startup routine. If I try to force quit, it is listed...

Strange, I have no problem saving files using 'save as', 'save', closing the document window or using the toolbar icon.
But then, I am using 10.3.8, TIger did not land on my doorstep yet.

Extra line breaks

I have a document created in 2.x that uses headers/footers and a lot of tables. I found that whenever 2.5a saves the document it inserts an extra newline in the header, footer and each table cell. My document grew with 3 pages after 3 saves. I also lost my own made palette group selection. I used a ...

You can use the document manager for this. Via 'Windows->Document manager' you can open the document manager window and select your document. Via 'File-Save in document manager' or by simply placing the file in `/Documents/Nisus Documents' you can place your files in the document manager. Hope this ...

So, we were thinking about changing the flag to use the standard language country codes. For example, US English will probably be "en_us" and British English would be "en_br". -Charles Please keep the flags, language country codes would probably take up more space and are not as...

Do you have access to MacLink Plus ? It used to ship with Mac's using OS 7.x systems.
NWE uses RTF as its format and you can do batch converting of Nisus classic files to Mac RTF.

Okay I installed it via fink, but how do I run it. I know I have to use Apple's X11, but I don't know the command to get it to run. Normally fink installs its applications in /sw/bin/ Do a 'cd /sw/bin' and a 'lc -C' to see if gnumeric shows up. You start it with ./gnumeric& You can add it to th...
