Default Table?
I don't know of a way to set up a default table. What you can do is create a "glossary" document with the basic table set up the way you like. Put the file someplace; record an applescript to open it (From NWE Help") "Save your AppleScripts as compiled scripts (with a ".scpt" extension) or plain tex...

Same problem here with docs created in Nisus. Identical files, created in NWX, one saved in word format ".doc" with extension, the other as ordinary rtf. Both with read access for everyone. Everyone can read and write to the folder they are in. Spotlight finds the rtf but not the doc file. NWX 2.7 O...

Check out the following macros for NWE 2.X, found from a Google Search--I haven't tried them:

first save doesn't ask to name the document
In another thread, SOULBARN complained about this "odd behavior." I too found it disconcerting and confusing. I tried several preference changes until I found the one that CChapin suggested: Uncheck the" Keep New Documents in Document Manager without Asking Me" preference. I recommend that this pref...

Nisus Tables <-> Word: Great
I have no experience of Mellel, so can't compare. I want to point out, as others have, that the Word compatibility of NWE is excellent. My colleagues send me Windows Word documents to revise (we don't use tracking). Although I own Office 04, I much prefer NWE: I open the docs in NWE and all attribut...

Autonumber Lines
See the topic "Legal Pleading Papers" where this was requested. As a work-around, one informant recommended the nifty program PDFPen. He converts Nisus documents to PDF and overlays them with line-numbers.

Full Screen Experience 2.7.b10
I do like full screen mode--it is less distracting.
However I find the delay in showing the menu bar a little too long.
I'd prefer a preference option for always showing the menu bar in full-screen mode.
Thanks

Re: Tables
Ah, I see the problem:
NWX does fine creating lists WITHIN table cells, but won't create a list across row or column boundaries --i.e. won't number rows automatically. Word does this and it would be a handy feature.

how to move around in document? problem with Find.
To make sure the word is there, open Text Wranger (free) or BBEdit to a new document and copy and past the entire NWE document into this second document. . Don't worry about formatting. Use the find command in the new program. Let us know what happens!

Borders for Sections in Columns-a work
I, too, have found tables, in columns or otherwise, somewhat unpredictable. If I move a table around with the "hand" I find the space it took up is unusable. Trying to manipulate text in too many tables in a column does lead to crashes on my system: OS X10.3.9 NWX 2.5. Dragging text into tables work...
