Well here is one more idea. I have written a simple macro that inserts a number as simple text digits, marked with delimiters. In the current set-up the delimiters are 3 zero-width spaces, so you don't even see them. Every time you run the macro, a new number is inserted, and all the other numbers ...

Exporting to epub
Is there a User Guide which explains what does and does not export to epub? I have a project with considerable formatting: small caps, ordered lists, multiple indenting. Do I edit in Nisus, or edit after export to epub? And, if so, how? Any tips welcome. Haven't tried this before.

Many thanks. The description of the macro suggests it will do just what I want. You prompt and detailed reply and the promise of more help on the forum if needed have persuaded me to go ahead and buy Nisus.
