Re: Placing Nisus rtf files in Indesign 2021 - Mac OS11
Sadly, that workaround does not do the trick. I will however inform Adobe of the issue and in the meantime use my own workaround.

Placing Nisus rtf files in Indesign 2021 - Mac OS11
My modus operandi for several years now is to compose a book in Nisus Pro and then place it into InDesign to create the final print-ready pdf. We recently upgraded to Big Sur and InDesign is also the latest version.Last week I tried to place a book into an Indesign file and it produced a page break ...

Re: Delete empty page (no text field)
I have experienced this on a number of occasions. There is no apparent reason for it, an, as others have noted, there are no codes to delete when opening invisibles. Today, it happened again at the end of a long document when a paragraph carried over to the next page but left an "empty page&quo...

Footnote style disappears each time I load a document
I'm working on a book with footnotes. I set the footnote style and work away merrily. The document is saved at the end of the day and the computer closed down. The following day the Footnote style has disappeared, although the pre-eisting footnotes conform to the format. I re-introduce the style and...

Problems with Sierra OS?
I updated to Sierra yesterday and opened Nisus Pro today. The file I was working on loaded. I made some changes and the the automatic save feature told me that the file could not be found. "The file doesn't exist." The I got a message that the file server (i.e. the NAS drive where the file...

Rogue empty pages
I have just started to assemble three large documents into a single document. I am part way through this but one, and now two, empty pages have appeared that I can't get rid of. Apart from the page number in the footer there is nothing on the page and if I try to insert new text at the bottom of the...

Re: Problem saving pdf file
I thought I would add to this. I haven't solved the problem but I may have identified the cause. The operating system may be the culprit.n I first experienced this issue after I upgraded to Mavericks. However I can still save to Adobe pdf when I use an older computer with OSX Lion. I thought it migh...

Re: Problem saving pdf file
On that option list you posted in your screenshot I have "save as Adobe pdf". This takes me to another menu where I can choose the version. In my case this takes me to the one I need to send my printing company a file. Now that you have posted this (for which thanks) I now realise that thi...

Problem saving pdf file
I am trying to save a large file as a pdf for printing.
Print
pdf
save as adobe pdf
pdfx1a 2001
continue
"An error occurred while saving the pdf file"
I've tried this several times with the same result. The normal save as pdf won't do for me as it has to be in the PDFX1a 2001 format.

Re: Dodgy conversion to adobe pdf
I have had to resort to my own very unsatisfactory solution which was to copy the indexes, paste them as text to a new file, delete the indexes in the original document and append the copied text. Then I was able to creat an adobe pdf without any aberrations.

Dodgy conversion to adobe pdf
I have a book of 192 pages which must be converted to a pdf file for the printer (PDFX-1a:2001). It has two indexes at the back which are causing trouble. Each time I try to convert to pdf (print/adobe pdf etc) it converts all the index numbers to repetitious and meaningless numbers. I've tried to r...
