Re: Nisus Pro not opening docs - Permission Denied
I've encountered this problem as well. Once I set Preferences > General > Keep xxx Documents Open... to zero (not blank) then no problem. Now I've gone in and changed all permissions (or rather reaffirmed, for myself and "everyone") to read & write using the finder and making sure I ap...

searching ("Find") for graphic / table
I'd like to be able to search for a graphic in particular -- I get press summaries that are loaded with photos and delete them to keep the printed version to a manageable length. More generally, can you search for a table or other embedded feature (a list ... text with a hyperlink?). I couldn't see ...

macro to convert "hard" endnotes into footnotes or
This takes a document with in-text references to notes of the sort [##] with the notes numbered at the end of the document, and converts them into "real" endnotes. I've not set it up with a loop, so that I can watch just in case it misses one - I just set a function key and hit repeatedly....

switching adjacent letters (I'm a bad typist...)
This is inelegant, my sense is there should be a way to do it more concisely. But the following seems to work consistently and the "if" seems to catch start-of-document failures. I gave it a name (Reverse Characters.nwm) and assigned a simple and meaningful keystroke to it (⌘R). $pplace=Se...

Hmmm. I've seen written Swiss German, definitely not standard german. Back when I could still speak OK standard, I could have fun in Switzerland because not everyone there could tell that my accent was American rather than some local German (my clothing didn't give me away). I'm living in Japan now,...

Switching windows
I checked the Nisus New File.dot -- no conflict, but I went through them all to double-check. I set and then removed the Nisus Prefs key assignment to/from an arbitrary nisus function [command-accent, it wasn't tilde...sorry]. Once I'd done that it worked fine. Thanks for encouraging persistence.

switching / cycling through open windows
Most Mac programs let you switch windows using command-tilda, including old versions of Nisus. Since I often have multiple windows open, that is extremely helpful. But there seems to be no such functionality, as of NWX2.5b3. It really degrades the usefulness of the program to me ... but maybe there ...

not just spell check, also fonts
I tried selecting text and then using the font window to apply my "favorites" without success. I can change fonts if I got to the drawer and select the font from the scroll-down list. I then have to separately apply the font size.

I do have one for style Japanese, and could (do?) have it selected by a keystroke (I too am a keyboard person). To reiterate, particularly for a document in mixed languages, it's a nuisance to switch language separate from switching keyboards. Equally, it's not clear to me that I could automate via ...

keyboard vs Language
I tried unchecking the "Switch keyboard layouts when language changes" option, and it seems to work but I only played with it for a minute. I'd never have checked for that if I'd not been told that others got it to work. But I won't be fully convinced until I play around with it a bit more...

Keyboard vs Language
I use Japanese and English (on rare occasions German). When I switch keyboards (command-space) from English <--> Japanese the language does not change. However, Japanese (English) editing only works properly under NWX2.5 when text is specifically designated as Japanese (English). Is this an issue fo...
