Letterhead as base layer?
Returning to this thread, as my employer has just generated new letterhead -- which we all have in electronic format, but as .pdf, not .rtf (or .doc/.docx). Is there any way to set such a pdf as background for the purposes of a NWP document? This is distinct from inserting an image into an rtf file....

Problems opening a letterhead created in Word
My employer has two different templates for letterhead. Both are in .docx format. When I open them in NWP, each has a problem. One is completely blank -- the graphics disappear altogether. The other is mangled -- the graphic elements show up, but are rearranged oddly on the page. Are there tricks to...

Re: Problems opening files/alternative importer always neede
Nothing new to report, merely entering this status report to bump the thread. Many many months now gone with no further input or help from Nisus. No reaction at all, in fact, since the brief reply I cut and pasted above. This is hardly a benchmark for responsive customer service. Are they even aware...

Re: Problems opening files/alternative importer always neede
Thanks, Frankns. Let's hope you bumping this thread will lead to some attention (and help). I still have the same problem, and it has persisted for many months now. No signs of progress. Few signs of response from Nisus either, which is the most frustrating part. I wrote separately to the support em...

Re: Problems opening files/alternative importer always neede
This problem has just returned, after switching to a different computer. That means it has persisted, now for months, and I haven't yet received any pm's or other communication, so don't know what to do about it. I'm having to open all doc files in Word. I can try the tricks of logging out & log...

Re: Problems opening files/alternative importer always neede
Hello -- could you please resend/restart? I never received the email back in May. Since then I've sent a couple PMs, trying to follow up; but there may be a system problem, as so far I've had no reply. Thank you.

Re: Problems opening files/alternative importer always neede
This problem has now returned. For EVERY file I try to open in NWP —unless it is an rtf file created natively in NWP —I get the same error message. This happens with any doc file. Once again, I'm wondering whether anyone at Nisus has tracked this down. Last time it simply went away. I can hope that ...

Re: Problems opening files/alternative importer always neede
In my case the problem simply went away — no particular reason, so I can't help with an explanation. But the upshot is, NWP hasn't had trouble opening files lately. I didn't tweak or change anything, so it's a bit of a mystery.

Re: Problems opening files/alternative importer always neede
I updated in September, but the problems didn't occur until a week or so ago, hence my confusion. I'll send some sample files through the Help menu, and in fact have already done so with a couple of the recent occurrences. Thanks.

Problems opening files/alternative importer always needed?
In the last few days, my NWP suddenly has developed trouble opening/importing files. This has never happened before, but now it pops up with probably 90% of the files I open. The error message reads: 'There were problems opening the file "[file name].doc". Retry opening the file with an al...

Re: Spacing at ends of sentences.
Thanks very much! That's really terrific. And it does precisely what I need.
Is there a listing somewhere of the (presumably multiple) changes that would be made by the predefined macro "clean up punctuation"?
Thanks again --

remove extra spaces throughout?
I'm using the newest version of NWP, and wanted to get rid of extra spaces in a document. I found this very old thread in the forums; but unfortunately I'm not a macro author (yet), so am not quite sure how to take up the suggestion at the very end. The details of my issue. I've just been sent a fil...

Re: What to do about Word's track changes feature?
If I've used NWP to open a file that was saved in MS Word with "track changes" activated, it shows with redline through the deleted text, as previous postings have noted. Is there a quick way to hide these changes (i.e. to accept them all, and display only the unmarked, fresh, revised text)?
