Re: Desired NWP1.2 Features

...just expanding the DM to do what the Finder already does well (creating aliases, consolidating frequently used files, showing previews, allowing for multiple windows/views of the file system &c.) seems like a waste of the developers' time. I've generally been a supporter of the DM, at the in...

Re: Awesome... Works with VoiceOver!!!

FWIW once you're happy with your VoiceOver compatibility, I'd agree it's a very worthwhile feature to not only appear in the full feature list, but be called out as a significant feature, a la Indexing, Bookmarks, Cross References etc. on the NWP page.

Re: Printing and Comments

FWIW I'll chime in to say that, obviously, it would be very useful to be able to print Comments. To maintain the integrity of the pagination, the page could be scaled down (with border added to indicate the real page boundary) with Comments printed along side. To reduce the amount of down-scaling re...

Re: Can I embedding a sound file in a documents?

The ability to insert an audio file would be useful for adding voice notes to a document. As far as features are concerned, at least parity with how TextEdit handles embedded audio files; i.e. the QuickTime play bar is shown where the file was inserted in the document, and the user can interact with...

Re: hyperlinks don't work in PDFs created from NWP documents

I'll chime in on this one -- the ability to export URLs to a PDF would be very useful to me (as it currently is when exporting from OmniGraffle for diagrams and wireframes.)

Unfortunately not; this is something I'd dearly like to see from NW, and unfortunately it's an area in which NeoOffice far exceeds NW. In addition to exporting document links, Neo/OOo also provides access to an extensive set of PDF options inc encryption, print rights, zoom options etc. Arguably too...

Leverage Finder features and Spotlight

I generally agree with requests to improve the Document Manager, and at the simplest levels I'd like to see a live-filter/search box added (a la iTunes' immediate filtering.) Searching would be a big start (my DM is already unwieldy) esp. if Spotlight-based so that it searched the document contents....

Add image support to existing features first

FWIW I come out on the negative side on this one -- I'd much rather see the app more deeply support image file formats in its existing functionality, than see development effort spent on drawing tools that are already well serviced on the Mac (inc. free tools for basic stuff.) The app could (and sho...

The most complete instructions can be found by opening Help and searching for "clickable link".

Thanks to soulbarn for this handy script! :) Most of the time, I tend to use the Mail PDF 'PDF service' via the Print dialogue, mainly to avoid sending editable documents, but this is very handy if you do want to send the RTF. As such, I've made a tiny modification; I've moved the 'activate Mail' in...

Try MegaZoomer

SHORT : Try Ian Henderson's Megazoomer which inserts itself into the Window menu of your apps, and will quickly hide the menu/dock and zoom the active window to full screen. LONG WINDED : It's a SIMBL plugin and at v0.3, so if you get a bit antsy about alpha/betas and these sorts of system extender...

Universal Binary coming?

I've not seen NT mentioned when there's been talk of converting to Universal Binary.

I presume that since NT is bundled with NWE it will be updated for Intel at the same time...?

thanks

Please add Services! : )

There's currently no way to have Express appear in your services menu. But I'll take this thread as a feature request for it. Well it's been a while since the first post, but I'll throw my hat in on this one too. Services are a really useful part of OS X and it would be great to see NWX being a goo...

You need the full version of Adobe Acrobat (not Reader) in order to have clickable links in a PDF. Perhaps a few other applications do that, but, Nisus Writer Express OmniGraffle supports exporting multi-page PDFs with internal links and URLs... you guys are co-operating on LinkBack, maybe they cou...
