Re: Need to change compromised password
While adryan is right, I think he's over-thinking your situation. My guess is that you use NordPass or NordVPN or similar, as I get these warnings from them about such password compromises. As for changing your password here, click your avatar in the top right corner and from the dropdown choose &qu...

Re: Hyphenation of words within quotation marks
I wonder if the problem is that "confine- (the other possible hyphenation point) is still too long to fit on the line, hence it can't hyphenate. Putting 'and' in means that the "con- hyphenation point is used. That's just my guess. You could try inserting a "Soft hyphen" at the '...

Re: Crash, Crash, Crash
Have you found a solution to this? From what you say, NWP opens but crashes when you type anything in your document. Does it only happen in this document or in other/new documents? That would clarify whether the NWP user interface has got corrupted or the document has got corrupted. If it's the UI, ...

Re: Change font & Size
Hello. Sorry to have taken time replying; I've been very busy with other things lately. I need to check further, but two things that I've encountered: A problem with footnote references being recognised as such. Selecting 1 and applying "Footnote Reference" from the style palette works, bu...

fellow Nisuoids! Wow! Till now I thought I was just an ordinary and pretty insignificant Nisus user, but now I know better, I'm a …Nisuoid! :–) A big Thank You to both of you, Philip and Adrian, for your always untiring willingness to help. Always great to hear from you. From me also, a happy and p...

Re: Documents folder
It’s up to you where you save your documents. From what you say, I surmise that you have iCloud set to store your Desktop and Document folders. I’d create a specific folder for your Nisus documents to keep them all together. You can make it either as a child of Documents or in /users/cass_mm/ (i.e. ...

Re: Sonoma compatibility
After upgrading to Sonoma, when saving Nisus keeps telling me that the file is locked and that it cannot save. The file is not locked and NWP had full disc access. What to do? Cheers, Ken What platform… Intel? Arm? I've just tried editing a 90 page document, redoing styles, scanning the bibliograph...

Re: Use Nisus to annotate and index a Word doc?
Having spent many years editing Word documents produced by people who claimed to be "experienced in using Word" but who not only knew nothing about styles but also treated TNR like a monospaced font, using spaces to create first-line indents on justified paragraphs, and who were apparently...

Re: A Miscellany of Hints
I find this most useful when it comes to naming Finder items. This is where expressing dates in ISO 8601 format (ie, YYYY-MM-DD) makes life a lot easier. I often precede a filename with a date like this. Having lived in China for many years, where the year-month-day dating system is the norm, I've ...

Re: Entering UTF-8 code points in Find and Replace
Can I point out, though, that while "\Uxxxx" works in NWP, it fails in other regex-enabled apps like Scrivener which are also built on the same Apple TextKit. In Scrivener, the "u" must be lowercase, and I would suspect this to be more canonical. You can also use \u0074 in Nisus...

Never used Opt-Shift for this; Ctrl-click (Right-click) brings the "Open With…" menu.

Re: Entering UTF-8 code points in Find and Replace
G'day, Mark et al <snip> The Find/Replace expression you want (in PowerFind Pro) is then "\U0074" (without the quotes). Cheers, Adrian Hi Adrian, That was the bit that I needed to know; thank you. Can I point out, though, that while "\Uxxxx" works in NWP, it fails in other regex...
