Re: Paragraph Formatting Icons

Thanks Martin

I know that a feature request is not an implementation promise, but this feature is so useful to me that I will cling to my hope that it ends up in Nisus Writer :-)

Cheers
Andrew

Re: Separate Style Palettes

Sorry, me again ... I've just noticed that the "Lists" palette already has a menu for selecting styles, which also happens to show the applied list style if you click in a list. Even a style menu something like that in the character and paragraph palettes, though not perfect, would be a bi...

Re: Separate Style Palettes

Hi Philip Thanks for the information. Those icons certainly do help a little, although they're still not quite what would work best for me. I also don't want people to get the wrong impression. As I said, I started with the first ever release of Nisus Writer, way back when, and it has always been my...

Re: Separate Style Palettes

Thanks for clarifying that, and it might help if I explain my reasoning a little more. Most of the work I do with Nisus Writer is editorial, and as part of that I need to confirm what styles are set for various bits of text (hence the separate request regarding paragraph formatting icons). I have a ...

Re: Paragraph Formatting Icons

Hi Hamid Thanks for the suggestion, but it's not quite the same thing. I do know about the Styles palette, but for me it has the same drawback as the Paragraph Formatting icon, in that you need to click in each paragraph to see what style is applied. What I'm hoping for is that Nisus can add the sty...

Separate Style Palettes

Hello again, everyone Is there any way to separate the Styles Palette into separate palettes for each type of style? Sorry if that doesn't make sense, but I'd really love to be able to open up one style palette that shows *only* the document's character styles, and another that shows *only* the para...

Paragraph Formatting Icons

Hi there, Nisus people Now that Nisus Writer has tracked changes, I am finally able to switch my editing work from Word to Nisus. The one thing I miss at the moment, though, is Word's style view, where the *name* of the paragraph style applied is shown in a pane on the left-hand side in Draft view. ...

Sorry, I spoke too soon! Everything *was* going OK, for a very short time ... then it all came back again. This is what seems to be going on: If I go back to factory defaults, things seem OK, at least for new files. If I change the Page Setup to A4 in Nisus New File, everything's still OK. If ...

Hi everyone Thanks for all the kind suggestions and helpful advice. I seem to have found a solution (at least for the moment, and hopefully for the long term!). By crossing my fingers and deleting all kinds of Nisus New File.dot and preference files, I've got it to the point where whatever seems to ...

Hi Craig These issues happen in both portrait and landscape. Over the weekend I've done quite a bit of testing and I've tried deleting various combinations of preferences and Nisus New Files, as well as looking carefully at the way the paper's running through the printer. The result of all this is t...

Oh, and by the way ... if I open the Nisus RTF document up in TextEdit, it prints just fine! Everything is exactly where it should be, with the margins just perfect :-/

I've had the problem for a long time ... I'm pretty sure it used to happen with version 1 as well. I use A4, but I've tried changing to US Letter, and the same thing happens. One interesting thing I've just found out is that if I set the default margins (in Nisus New File), and then change the defau...

Hi Peter, thanks for taking an interest! I should have mentioned that this only happens in NWE. The other apps I use don't have a problem at all.

Margins ... why bother?

Hi everyone I'd really like to know if this is just me, or if others have this problem too. What happens is that my pages always print in the wrong place! To explain: 1. I set the margins in the document to my preferred distance 2. When I print the document, the margins aren't correct! They are alwa...
