Re: converting automatic content

Mark's suggestion puzzled me a bit. There was a character style called 'Note Reference', and it already was superscript. I even made it red to make the numbers stand out more clearly, but after running Mark's macro (in its original fom), the numbers were neither superscript nor red, so apparently th...

Re: converting automatic content

Dear Mark,

Sorry to bother you; I should have tried this myself, and did so in the meantime. Simply added "Superscript" (and a return) before "Insert Text $refString", and it works.

Thanks again,
Bart

Re: converting automatic content

Dear Mark, unfortunately I don't exactly see how that would make a difference? After running the macro all the styling of the note references (I mean the numbers in the main text, not the ones in front of the notes; just to be sure) is gone. So I guess that what I would need is an extra line in the ...

Re: converting automatic content

Dear Martin,

That macro does indeed what I was after. That's great. Thank you.
I should start learning the macro language and figure out such things for myself, but I haven't had the time yet.
Is there a way to make those number superscript?

Thanks again,
Bart

Re: converting automatic content

Dear Martin, Thank you for your explanation and suggestion. I'm afraid however that this doesn't solve my problem. It does give me the note texts with 'real' numbers, but I'm still stuck with a main text in which the note references are automatic numbers, and there is no way of converting those to j...

Re: converting automatic content

Dear Hamid, problem is: styles do matter, at least the basic stuff like italics, so I cannot afford to loose those as well. I guess I'm doing something wrong (at least if I do understand what the conversion I'm using is supposed to do), or there is a bug in the new version of NisusWriter Pro. I even...

converting automatic content

I have a document with endnotes, and I need to put those notes in a separate document, delete them in the document I now have without loosing the note numbers, and turn those note numbers into text. 'Convert to fixed content' seems to be made for that job, but it doesn't seem to work … I've tried se...

selecting paragraphs

When tripple-clicking a paragraph (a block of text ending with a return) I expect that paragraph to be selected, but I noticed that when the next paragraph starts with things like [, ], (, ), {, } or a full stop, that character is included in the selection, so when you use that selecting to change t...

Re: NWP keeps on "Loading fonts"

Ah, Spaces!
Yes I'm using Spaces, and Nisus isn't the only program which has some problems with it (even some of Apple's own get disoriented).
Glad to know that I needn't worry.
Thanks for the reassurance.

Best Regards

NWP keeps on "Loading fonts"

Whenever I open a new document, NWP shows the "About Nisus Writer Pro" window in front of it, and in that window it says "Loading fonts …". So far I have just clicked it away, but each time I wonder: is anything wrong with my fonts, or is this just NWP forgetting to close that funny window itself? b...

This is already possible.

Excellent! I felt there must be way, but I couldn't find it. I'll have to give those colorful little widgets down under more attention than I did so far.

Thanks

[quote="rmark"] Please send a copy of the "offending" file ….[/quote I'm afraid I cannot. I noticed afterwards that saving and closing the file, and then opening it again, brought back all the missing text in page view. So sending you a file would be of little use. I would guess that taking a text o...

more footnote problems

When I'm typing footnote text it often happens that my computer beeps and that I cannot go on typing. It looks as if the cursor still is where it should be, but I have to click at that spot to bring it to life again, before I can go on typing. My impression is that this happens right after the inser...

too many footnotes?

I'm using NWE 2.5. In a thirty page document I'm editting I inserted a few (more) footnotes and all of a sudden the main text from there on disappeared in page view – in draft view it's still there. All I can see in page view is the footnotes on the following pages, all the way till the end. But the...
