Re: Drag and drop gone

the bug is back again, despite trying: - quitting NW - logging out - restarting - plain text file / rtf file both versions in draft view and page view. However, I've just discovered the same problem in the email app Spark sad face. :( ***** I have determined that the workaround is to disable the act...

Re: Drag and drop gone

OK: I turned off the "share menu items" for "actions" restarted, and the problem went away. Then turned the "share menu items" for "actions" again, and it's back. so then I took a screenshot (command-shift-3, because 4 wo...

Re: Drag and drop gone

that's the right menu. However, a restart made it go away. I am now going to see how long before it happens again.

Re: Drag and drop gone

Amazingly, now after two years, I see the drag + drop problem showing up in another way, now with Catalina, same machine. Again, drag + Drop works fine in all other applications, but in Nisus, I get a 3d gray button with a white downward pointing carat-arrow, which provides sharing menu options. The...

Form Paragraph Macro

I use the "form paragraph" macro from NWP 2.1 pretty much every day, as I clean up text. Just bought NWP 3.0.4, and see the macro is not there. Writing macros is something that I have not been able to master. In the old days, I used to used to use "save to macro," I think, but on...

Re: Drag and drop gone

I ran etrecheck (www.etrecheck.com), found some old daemons to get rid of, reboot, and we seem to be ok now.

Re: Drag and drop gone

What I have to do is to click on the text and wait till the "I" shaped insertion point changes to the black arrow, then it works. I can't figure out what's slowing this down! Ugh!

Re: Drag and drop gone

My experience is that I need to wait three seconds for Drag & Drop to work in NWP. Works instantaneously in other apps

text, text text

Only text. HTML email is evil. My email program (MAILSMITH, BABY) is set up to filter it out automatically, & I ignore it.

Re: Very disappointing news
(snip!) 1. Styles 2. Basic automatic outlining 3. Footnotes 4. Simple tables To really step up to the plate I would love to see far more innovative features: 1. How about OpenType automatic ligatures a la InDesign. This is a feature that has never been really implemented ...

Responsiveness

I wonder abt others' experience w/ NWX, & general responsiveness. One of the best (and there were millions) things abt Nisus Writer was its leaness. The pgm is still small, compared to other choices, but I find that using NWX on my 500mhz ibook w/ 320mb ram is so painfully slow that I cannot use...

It appears that all docs are saved, and then in the autosave library. This means that you need to do a 'save as' to save where you want them. This is if you have the second box ['Keep new documents in the autososave library without asking me'] checked in autosave. I don't know why anyone wd want to ...
