Re: Sick Document

Thanks, I will have to get back to you on that. I made a copy of the problem revision and I have a copy of the file to compare it with. But right now I am under the gun with this project - and the next one. So I will have to come back to doing this. As I stated, I know I did not drag in a 70 plus me...

Re: Sick Document

I now see this as some sort of an internal bug in Nisus. Two things have occurred for me to have arrived at this conclusion. First, I discovered that one of the problem graphic files, when I right clicked on it, asked if I wanted it restore it to its original size (don't have a screen shot of that m...

Re: Sick Document

However, your screenshot of the image analysis does indeed show a huge image. Your largest image is 74 MB (megabytes). That is huge! Much bigger than you need, no matter what kind of output you're doing. And that's just a single image. If you have many images of that size in your document, you migh...

Re: Sick Document

You're probably thinking of old commands like "zap gremlins". That's unlikely to help here. The potential issues today are usually going to be different than olden times when a few invisible characters caused havoc. Oops, my bad, Yes indeed, zap gremlins. Zap dingbats is a font. Continuing with the...

Re: Sick Document

Yes I was just looking at that. Although at this point I do not understand what is going to be an optimal size for an in line graphic in size. What concerns me more though, is that when this happens, I open an earlier revision of the same Nisus file, copy the images again, and paste them into the ne...

Sick Document

I have a Nisus document that is not behaving as it should. Long ago Nisus had a Zap Dingbats command that was designed to kill any weirdness that could have worked its way into the code. I don't see this feature in the help menu. I have several Nisus documents. The other Nisus documents are behaving...

Grappling With Section Automatic Page Numbering

I am learning how to use “insert section next page” to assert my automatic numbering scheme in the footer section to start where I want it to start. I am having a problem. What I want is to have a front page I call “Stop Notes”. This is a new idea suggested in my writing process for me to track what...

Re: NW for iPad?

I have a workaround that I use. I have an earlier iPad that uses a different iCloud set up so I cant transfer Pages easily - or at all using standard iCloud preferences. But, Notes works great. I use Nisus. And I also make good use of TaskPaper to work through my rough ideas. As a project develops, ...

Re: Pages inside a Document

Doesn't this all boil down to just editing PDFs? It's more convenient to do this in PDFpenPro or PDF Expert. Both are good professional annotation tools. Yes I suppose I could do it that way too. I am more familiar with using an app to add to a new page than I am with editing the document directly....

Re: Pages inside a Document

I made it simple. I didn’t plan on searching within the document. The document is something I am creating to state my case. It is the document that I am going to tag and search. Although it is a fair question if spotlight will recognize the inserted PDFs in the document. I just took a blank page in ...

Re: Pages inside a Document

I have redacted my personal details in the example page. This is a letter from USAFE JAG (legal) saying that my unit (including myself) could not be found. This was when I was stationed on a remote USAF unit after a very serious pedestrian accident. I recently discovered my lost German hospital reco...

Re: Pages inside a Document

Thanks all for replying to this. The solution is to use Swift Publisher 5 https://www.swiftpublisher.com , a simple page layout program. This is not about links. This is about showing the areas on several documents that I wish to contest. Therefore I have to layout a page using the page I am referen...

Pages inside a Document

I have an idea that I want to try, but I can't see a way to make it happen with Nisus. I am posting this to understand if it is possible and if it is, how to do it. Or, perhaps this is more of a page layout situation? I want to use a Nisus document to assemble several files and leave space to commen...

Re: GREP

Thanks, it's not quite working for me. Perhaps I have not understood your example? Trying: FIND: (Capture((AnyTextCharacter))).(Capture()(AnyTextCharacter)()) REPLACE: (Capture((AnyTextCharacter)))(Capture()(AnyTextCharacter)()) Hitting Replace All Getting error beep as in, nothing to find. Same res...

GREP

I am doing a lot of work cleaning up an old PDF file. It was very dirty so the rendered text has a high degree of junk in it. I am finding periods in random places inside of words. Also comas and other characters are in words. Starting with clearing the extra random periods, I am looking for a GREP ...
